Greater Manchester Police seize five Lamborghinis and Mercedes G-Wagon

Greater Manchester Police seized five Lamborghinis and a Mercedes G-Wagon after a convoy of luxury vehicles used motorways as a racetrack. Officers were alerted to reports of dangerous driving on the M66, including high speeds, weaving across lanes, wheel-spinning, and driving as slow as 17 mph (27 km/h) to obstruct others.

Members of the Transport Policing and Crime Command tracked the convoy to the M62, stopping two Lamborghinis as they exited the motorway, while other vehicles were intercepted in Rochdale using specialist tactics. The vehicles were seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.

Chief Inspector Danny Kabal stated that the force will not tolerate careless, inconsiderate, or anti-social driving. He noted that recent legislative changes allow police to seize vehicles without issuing a prior warning. The drivers involved face prosecution for various driving offences.
