Greater Victoria golf team wins B.C. qualifier for PGA Scramble
A Greater Victoria golf team has secured a spot in the PGA Scramble National Final after winning the B.C. West Regional Final on August 11. Competing at GreenTee Country Club Westwood Plateau Sky, the team—consisting of Amir Majeed, John Kennedy, Colleen McCrann, Terry Weegar, and Bear Mountain Resort PGA professional Lucas Nonni—posted a net score of 20-under-par (51.6) to win by two strokes.
The team was the only squad from Greater Victoria to advance, besting 17 other competing teams. The victory follows a successful local qualifier at Bear Mountain in June, where the group also recorded a score of 20.8 under par.
The group will travel to Inverness, Nova Scotia, for the 54-hole national championship, which is scheduled to take place from October 3 to October 7.
