Grecotel launches three Rethymno hotels as Mediterranean cruise itineraries expand in 2026

Grecotel Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of three new 4‑star properties in Rethymno, Crete – Plaza Beach House, Casa Adele and Villa Oliva. The accommodations combine apartment‑style independence with full hotel services such as sea‑view pools, a spa, fitness facilities and a children’s corner, targeting families and long‑stay travellers.

A separate guide highlighted the most attractive Mediterranean cruise routes for 2026. It advises travellers to choose itineraries based on desired duration (2‑5 nights for mini‑cruises, 7‑14 nights for multi‑country circuits), geographic focus (western Mediterranean covering Spain, the Balearic Islands, Italy and Sicily; eastern Mediterranean featuring Greek islands, Croatia and Turkey) and departure ports such as Marseille, Barcelona, Rome‑Civitavecchia, Athens and Venice. Spring and early autumn are recommended for milder weather and fewer crowds, while on‑board inclusions like full‑board meals are noted for budgeting purposes.
