Greece: 52-year-old truck driver dies after vehicle overturns on Corinth‑Patra highway

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Friday night on the Corinth‑Patra National Road in Greece, at the 93rd kilometre near Zevgolatios. A 52‑year‑old driver lost control of his truck, which struck protective barriers, broke through them and overturned onto a nearby field. The driver became trapped inside the cabin.

Rescue units from the Kiato Fire Service, the Highway Police of Corinth, Olympian Road vehicles and an EKAB ambulance responded. Using special rescue tools they freed the driver, who was unconscious, and transported him to a hospital in Corinth. He was later pronounced dead. The driver was a resident of Xylokastro, Corinth. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
