Croatia advances to Socca World Cup semi-finals

The Croatia national socca team has advanced to the semi-finals of the Socca World Cup in Essen, Germany, following a decisive 6-2 victory over Greece in the quarter-finals. Croatia's path to the final four included a dramatic round-of-16 win against the reigning European champions, Spain, which was decided via socca penalties after a 1-1 draw.

In the quarter-final match against Greece, Croatia overcame an early deficit. After Giorgos Kalamaridis scored for Greece in the 9th minute, Josip Haluška equalized, and Robert Franjkić scored twice to give Croatia the lead. Daniel Sudar and Duje Medak added further goals to secure the win.

Greece reached the quarter-finals after defeating Oman on penalties under difficult weather conditions. Their run marks the fourth time the Greek team has reached this stage of the World Cup.
