Greece allocates €1.45 million for new hospital wing in Itia

The Greek Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family has announced €1.45 million in funding for a new wing at the Grammatikopoulo-Balei and Trigeio Hospital for Chronic Diseases in Itia. The investment is intended to upgrade health services in the Fokida region.

The funding, confirmed during a meeting between Minister Domna Michailidou and Central Greece Regional Governor Fanis Spanos, is designated for the second phase of the project. Of the total amount, €1.2 million is allocated for construction works, including architectural, building, and electromechanical interventions, while €250,000 is earmarked for essential medical and operational equipment.

Final studies for this phase have been completed. The goal is to transform the new wing into a modern rehabilitation and day-care center. Authorities plan to accelerate procedures for the relevant call within the framework of the National Development Program 2026-2030.
