Greece allocates 97.8 million euros for natural disaster recovery

The Greek government has allocated 97.845 million euros to support municipalities, regional authorities, and local government organizations affected by natural disasters. This funding is part of the Special Program for Addressing and Recovering from Natural Disasters under the 2026-2030 National Development Program.

Decisions were made by Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasi, following recommendations from the Government State Aid Committee and under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Konstantinos Katsafadou. The resources are intended for damage repair projects and the reinforcement of critical infrastructure.

The program aims to rapidly restore the functionality of essential networks and services while enhancing the resilience of local communities against future extreme natural phenomena. The initiative establishes a cohesive framework for both timely prevention and rapid recovery in areas threatened or impacted by natural disasters.
