Greece allocates funds for university infrastructure upgrades

The Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports is implementing new funding initiatives to upgrade university infrastructure across the country.

The University of Patras will receive 2.33 million euros for a project focused on the Department of Architecture and the Department of Geology. Planned works include building renovations, laboratory upgrades, and the installation of fire safety and security lighting systems in eight buildings in Rio.

Additionally, the University of Ioannina is receiving an initial 3.5 million euros for maintenance and infrastructure support. This is part of a larger 7 million euro allocation for the institution.

These investments are part of a broader national program totaling 115.85 million euros dedicated to university infrastructure, with approximately 70 million euros specifically earmarked for regional higher education institutions.
