Greece and China strengthen cultural ties at 4th Liangzhu Forum

Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni has welcomed the opening of the 4th Liangzhu Forum in China, highlighting the strategic importance of cultural cooperation between Greece and China. The participation of Greece, which has attended the forum since its inception in 2023, serves as a pillar of bilateral relations and strengthens the dialogue between East and West.

Mendoni emphasized that cultural heritage is a living force that shapes the present and future. She noted that the ancient civilizations of both nations demonstrate that heritage knows no borders and can serve as a foundation for mutual respect and international cooperation.

The discussions also addressed the urgent need to protect global cultural wealth against modern challenges, specifically the climate crisis and the illicit trafficking of cultural goods. Greece expressed its readiness to contribute its scientific expertise, archaeological services, and museum research to these shared international efforts.
