Greece and Pakistan seek to expand trade and economic ties
Greek Ambassador Eleni Pouriki and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol met in Lahore to discuss expanding economic cooperation and bilateral trade between Greece and Pakistan.
Ambassador Pouriki highlighted a growing demand for Pakistani skilled workers in Greece, specifically within the agriculture and engineering sectors. She emphasized the importance of the private sector in driving economic relations and suggested diversifying trade beyond textiles into renewable energy and tourism. Pouriki noted that Greece could share its expertise in developing tourism infrastructure with Pakistan.
President Saigol proposed increased cooperation in the agriculture, minerals, and mining sectors, suggesting that Pakistan could benefit from Greek technology and expertise. Both parties advocated for more frequent business-to-business (B2B) meetings and the exchange of business delegations to identify joint ventures and investment opportunities.
