Greece and Serbia Strengthen Cooperation to Combat Illegal Migration

Greek Immigration Minister Thanos Plevris and Serbian Deputy Minister of Migration Sevi Voloudaki met with Serbia’s ambassador to Athens, Nikola Nedeljković, to deepen bilateral cooperation on migration management. The talks emphasized coordinated action and information‑sharing to disrupt human‑smuggling networks that use routes from Greece through the western Balkans to other European destinations.

Both sides also discussed facilitating legal travel, including streamlined visa procedures for students and tourists, to promote cultural and educational exchanges while addressing irregular migration challenges.
