Greece and WHO complete Health-IQ program to improve patient safety

The Greek Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe have concluded the Health-IQ program, an initiative focused on enhancing healthcare quality and patient safety. The program's results were presented at a concluding event held on October 14, 2026, at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens.

Key achievements include the development of the ‘Quality-for-All’ platform, which utilizes data to identify gaps in patient care and map patient journeys. The initiative aimed to provide healthcare professionals with reliable information and decision-making tools to improve service delivery.

Edim Georgiadis, the Greek Minister of Health, emphasized that the program provides the necessary tools for better services and increased safety for every patient. Dr. Gundo Weiler, WHO Representative in Greece, described Health-IQ as an international best practice that is being promoted throughout the WHO European Region via the Athens office.
