Greece announces 1,420 recruitment positions for military and Coast Guard

The Greek Ministry of National Defence and the Hellenic Coast Guard have announced recruitment processes for a total of 1,420 positions for 2026.

Of these, 1,000 positions are for Professional Soldiers (EPOPs) across the various branches of the Armed Forces. The distribution includes 370 positions in the Army, 350 in the Navy (including 50 in Operations/Communications), 250 in the Air Force, 25 in the Joint Intelligence Corps, and 5 in the Joint Legal Corps. Applications for these roles must be submitted electronically by Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Additionally, the Hellenic Coast Guard is recruiting 420 Trainee Coast Guardsmen, including both men and women. The selection will be based on a scoring system divided into three categories: a General Category (30%), a Special Forces category for paratroopers, commandos, or marines (50%), and a Submarine Destruction category (20%). The application period for the Coast Guard begins on Monday, September 28, and concludes on October 13, 2026. Applicants must not have exceeded 28 years of age by December 31 of the deadline year and must meet specific height requirements.
