Greece announces changes to 2027 Panhellenic Exam scientific fields

Greece has officially announced significant changes to the structure of the Panhellenic Exams for 2027, affecting how students select university departments through the four scientific fields. According to ministerial decision Φ. 253/47419/Α5/2026, the new mapping will expand academic and career options for many students.

A major component of the reform involves the Military Schools, which will become accessible through a wider range of scientific fields. For instance, the 1st Scientific Field (Humanities, Law, and Social Sciences) will now include the Law and Psychology departments of the Military Officers Corps School (SSAS). The 2nd Scientific Field (Positive and Technological Sciences) will see a significant expansion, incorporating various tracks from the Evelpidon Military Academy, the Air Force Academy (including pilots and aeronautical engineers), and the Naval Academy.

Additionally, the 3rd Scientific Field will undergo changes with the inclusion of all Physics departments across the country. These adjustments are designed to provide students with more diverse paths in their university applications starting from the 2027 examination cycle.
