Greece announces deadlines for Fire Service hiring and child allowance applications
In Greece, two significant administrative deadlines have been announced for public services and social benefits.
The Hellenic Fire Service is concluding its recruitment process for 26 special duty positions. The deadline for electronic applications is Friday, September 11, at 23:59. The vacancies include 5 Captain Navigators and 5 Engineer Navigators at officer rank, as well as 16 Engineer Navigators for lower-level staff. These roles are intended for the Marine Service and Port Fire Stations. Applicants must be Greek citizens born after January 1, 1991, and meet specific health, military service, and educational requirements.
Separately, the platform for the A21 Child Allowance through OPΕΚΑ is open for new applications, corrections, or changes. However, the ability to submit or process applications will be temporarily suspended starting Friday, September 11, 2026, at 18:00, to facilitate the next payment cycle. The process is entirely digital via the IDIKA A21 platform or gov.gr, requiring TAXISnet credentials. Beneficiaries are advised to ensure their 2025 income tax returns are filed to ensure accurate benefit calculations.
