Greece announces pension schedules and graduate employment program

Greece is entering a period of significant social security and employment activity. The Public Employment Service (DYPA) has opened applications for a program offering 1,000 positions to unemployed graduates aged 25 to 54. Selected candidates will work for 12 months with monthly gross salaries reaching up to 1,250 euros for university graduates and 1,200 euros for technical graduates.

Regarding pensions, September payments will be distributed in two phases. The first phase begins on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, covering non-salaried pensioners (including OAEE, OGA, and ETAA), new EFKA pensions granted after 2017, and private sector supplementary pensions. The second phase will occur on Friday, August 28, 2026, for salaried pensioners from former funds such as IKA-ETAM, banks, OTE, and DEH, as well as public sector pensions.

Additionally, recent payments from e-EFKA and DYPA between August 17 and 21 totaled over 61 million euros, benefiting approximately 68,370 recipients. There are also reports of restored widow pensions for approximately 8,500 public sector retirees, with rates returning from 35% to 70%.
