Greece announces tax exemptions for Arta villages and new fiscal support measures

The Greek government has announced several fiscal measures aimed at providing relief to households, farmers, and professionals. In the Arta regional unit, 341 villages and settlements will be fully exempt from the ENFIA property tax starting in 2027. This replaces a previous 50% discount and expands the eligibility criteria to include settlements with up to 2,000 inhabitants.

Additional tax reforms include the abolition of the occupation fee for professionals located outside of Athens, zero tax for farmers with incomes up to 20,000 euros, and a 50% reduction in presumptive taxation for the self-employed.

Furthermore, the government is reviewing support measures for heating costs as fuel prices fluctuate. Officials are conducting meetings to design potential increases in heating allowance amounts or the scope of eligibility for the approximately 800,000 beneficiaries, in response to rising heating oil prices.
