Greece appoints 4,789 teachers and 470 special education staff
The Greek Government Gazette has published the official decisions regarding the permanent appointment of thousands of educational personnel. A total of 4,789 teachers are being appointed to vacant positions across primary and secondary general education, special education, music schools, and various support centers.
Specifically, the appointments include 3,293 teachers from general education ranking lists, 75 music science and music specialists for music schools, and 1,421 teachers for special education and training. Additionally, 470 members of Special Educational Personnel (EEP) and Special Auxiliary Personnel (EVP) have been appointed to roles within Special Education and Training School Units (SMEAE), Interdisciplinary Assessment, Counseling and Support Centers (KEDASY), and Educational Support Networks (SDEY).
The special education staff appointments cover various professional categories, including speech therapists, vocational counselors, psychologists, school nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Newly appointed staff are required to report to their respective Regional Directorates of Education to proceed with swearing-in and assumption of duties.
