Greece approves 20,870 public sector recruitments for 2027

The Greek Cabinet has approved the annual recruitment plan for permanent staff and fixed-term private law personnel for the year 2027. A total of 20,870 permanent positions and salaried mandates have been authorized based on government priorities.

Key sector allocations include:

• Health: 4,650 positions, including 1,515 medical staff and 3,135 nursing and other personnel. • National Defense: 1,489 positions for training schools, 1,000 EP.OP. positions, and 102 teaching and research staff. • Civil Protection: 1,050 positions for training schools (cadets and non-commissioned officers), 140 officer positions, and 151 security roles for detention facilities. • Climate Crisis: 330 positions for fire service training schools and 600 general duty firefighters. • Infrastructure and Transport: 1,300 total positions, including 582 for OSE, 230 for OSY SA, 135 for Fixed Communications SA, and 154 for the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority. • Oversight and Justice: 1,000 new hires for the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), 95 judicial officers, and 420 judicial employees for the Council of State (StE).
