Greece approves simulator training contract for C-27J crews
The Hellenic Air Force has finalized a contract for flight simulator training for its C-27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft crews. This agreement is the first implementation phase of a four-year framework contract with the Italian defense and aerospace company Leonardo S. p. A., which has a total value of 4,232,000 euros, excluding VAT.
The initial implementation contract is valued at 552,000 euros and will provide recurrent training for 12 C-27J flight crews. The training program, scheduled to span the 2026 and 2027 budget years, involves two four-hour simulator sessions per crew member at a rate of 2,875 euros per hour.
The contract includes specific legal protections regarding technical delays. If a simulator malfunction takes longer than 72 hours to repair, the contractor is responsible for covering personnel accommodation costs up to 150 euros per day. The agreement also outlines financial deductions applicable if training sessions are canceled within specific timeframes.
