Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania sign transport connectivity Action Plan
Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania have signed a joint Action Plan through the Black Sea – Aegean Connectivity Platform (BACP) to implement a series of strategic transport projects. The initiative aims to create a unified, multimodal connectivity system linking the Aegean Sea, the Danube, and the Black Sea.
The plan includes 53 transboundary projects, with 25 identified as high-priority due to their strategic importance and technical readiness. These projects, which include major bridges, road networks, and railway corridors, have an estimated total value of approximately 22.8 billion euros. Key priorities include the modernization of the Ruse–Giurgiu–Bucharest railway link and the construction of a new road and rail bridge between Ruse and Giurgiu.
In Greece, focus remains on upgrading the Alexandroupoli–Pythio–Ormenio railway line and the Mouries–Promachonas–Kulata project. The initiative received support from the European Commission and aims to enhance regional connectivity, military mobility, and European competitiveness through synchronized infrastructure development across borders.
