Hellas‑Space 2.0 €350 million Greek space programme European Space Agency satellite infrastructure

The Greek Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence has unveiled Hellas‑Space 2.0, a €350 million national space programme funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Fund “Greece 2.0”. The programme is implemented through the General Secretariat for Telecommunications and Post and is developed in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA).

Hellas‑Space 2.0 will build very‑high‑resolution Earth‑observation satellites and thermal‑imaging satellites for civil protection, environmental monitoring and security. It also aims to provide secure satellite connectivity and positioning services for critical public and private sectors, and to establish space‑surveillance and radio‑frequency monitoring capabilities. The initiative is intended to strengthen Greece’s space industry, research and innovation ecosystem and to support applications in disaster response, transport, precision agriculture and public administration.
