Greece considers accelerating economic relief measures

The Greek government is reviewing its timeline for economic intervention measures to provide relief to households and businesses. While many planned interventions were originally slated for 2027, officials are considering accelerating some of these actions to 2026.

Government representatives, including Vice President Kostis Hatzidakis and spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis, have indicated that certain measures announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis may be implemented as early as the end of this year. These efforts aim to mitigate economic pressures, following previous attempts to stabilize prices through national agreements with supermarkets.
