Greece continues school infrastructure upgrades via Marietta Giannakou Program

Renovations are underway across Greece to modernize school buildings through the ‘Marietta Giannakou’ program. In Astros, works at the local primary school have been completed by Building Infrastructure S.A. The upgrades included interior and exterior painting, repairs to sanitary facilities (including accessible toilets for people with disabilities), roof repairs, insulation, and improvements to the school playground and accessibility ramps.

In Tripoli, the second phase of the program is targeting the 6th Primary School and the 11th Kindergarten in the Kolokotronis neighborhood. These works, also managed by Building Infrastructure S.A., involve various internal and external repairs with an estimated cost of approximately 73,000 euros. The program is being implemented during the summer break to minimize disruption and is funded through the country's systemic banks and their association.
