Greece detains foreign suspects in drug trafficking and illegal weapons offenses
Greek police arrested a 27‑year‑old foreign national in the municipality of Kileler after he fired an illegal firearm at a house and was found with a small amount of raw cannabis (5.9 g). He faces charges of attempted extortion and violations of weapons and drug laws, and has been barred from leaving the country.
In a separate operation on Mykonos, a 30‑year‑old foreigner was seized while transporting large quantities of illicit substances, including 239 small packets of cocaine, 37 packets of ketamine, processed cannabis chocolate (154 g), hallucinogenic mushroom powder, and cash worth roughly €8,000. The individual was already subject to an Italian European arrest warrant for smuggling and a German Schengen entry ban. Authorities seized the drugs, cash, and a mobile phone for forensic analysis, and the suspect is being transferred to the prosecutor’s office.
Both arrests were conducted by Greek law‑enforcement agencies as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug trafficking and weapons violations.
