AADE Disciplinary Council Unanimously Acquits Efka Official

The five-member Disciplinary Council of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has unanimously acquitted Preskevi Tycheropoulou, the former Director of Internal Audit at the Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organization (OPEKEPE).

The council accepted her petition for review, overturning previous disciplinary decisions made by former OPEKEPE President Kyriakos Babasidis. Tycheropoulou had been charged with breaching confidentiality and improper conduct after she submitted an audit report regarding livestock inspection deficiencies in Crete to the Deputy Commissioner of the Court of Audit.

Following the initial charges, a subsequent president, Nikos Salatas, had imposed disciplinary penalties, including a salary deduction. Her lawyer, Antonis Vagianos, stated that this acquittal follows a prior ruling by the Athens Court of First Instance, which deemed her removal from her position illegal and retaliatory. Despite these legal victories, her lawyer noted that her full professional reinstatement remains an ongoing issue.
