Greece distributes 4.88 million euros in rent reimbursements to public sector workers

The Greek Ministry of National Economy and Finance and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) have completed the distribution of financial aid in the form of a two-month rent reimbursement to 17,074 educators and healthcare professionals.

The total amount distributed is approximately 4.88 million euros. The payments were credited automatically to the beneficiaries' IBANs based on 2024 rental data, income tax declarations, and service records provided by the Ministry of Interior. No application was required for this process.

The aid targets permanent and substitute teachers, as well as special education staff in public primary and secondary schools. It also covers medical, nursing, and health personnel within general government bodies, including doctors, dentists, and ambulance crews from EKAB, who serve in regions outside of Attica and Thessaloniki.
