Greece economic outlook: Debt reduction and growth projections

Greece's economic landscape is characterized by shifting debt projections and varying social indicators. Capital Economics forecasts that Greek debt could fall below Italian levels this year and below French levels by 2030, with the economy expected to grow faster than the eurozone average through 2028.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has engaged with leaders from Citi and Bank of America in New York to discuss fiscal stability, the rapid decline of public debt, and investment opportunities in energy and digital infrastructure. He noted that Greece's borrowing costs are now lower than those of several G7 nations, including the US, UK, France, and Italy.

However, challenges remain. The pharmaceutical sector reports that current investment incentives are insufficient to attract clinical trials, potentially costing the country billions in lost revenue. Additionally, the Global Retirement Index ranks Greece 36th, noting high scores in healthcare but significant weaknesses in economic prosperity and purchasing power for retirees.
