Greece electricity market: PPC withdraws fixed rate as winter schedules approach
Public Power Corporation (PPC) is withdrawing its myHome Online fixed-rate electricity plan, which features a charge of 0.115 €/kWh and a 3.5 € monthly fixed fee, effective October 31. The decision comes amid a 24.3% increase in wholesale electricity prices during October, rising from 156.31 €/MWh in September to 194.28 €/MWh. PPC intends to replace this product with a new fixed-rate offering with different characteristics to account for higher procurement costs.
Separately, the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO) has announced the implementation of winter hours for the two-zone reduced pricing system. Starting November 1, 2026, and lasting until March 31, 2027, the discounted periods will be: the midday zone from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and the nighttime zone from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM.
