Greece employment initiatives: Almouros municipal hiring and DYPA training programs
Various employment and training initiatives are being implemented in Greece through DYPA (formerly OAED) programs.
The Municipality of Almouros has approved the hiring of 11 long-term unemployed individuals on 12-month contracts. The positions include one heavy machinery operator, five green space workers, and five outdoor cleaning workers. This initiative targets individuals aged 55 to 67, as well as those up to 74 who have not yet met pension requirements, to address staff shortages caused by retirements.
In a separate initiative, DYPA is offering a beekeeping vocational training program in the Municipality of Northern Tzoumerka. The program provides 295 hours of theoretical and practical instruction, with participants eligible for a training allowance of up to 1,475 euros. Applications are open to unemployed residents aged 18 to 60 who have completed mandatory education.
