Greece experiences unsettled weather with rain and thunderstorms, improving by afternoon

On May 20, Greece is under unsettled conditions with rain, showers and sporadic thunderstorms expected in the morning across eastern regions and many islands, including Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Evia, the Sporades, the eastern mainland, the Cyclades, Crete, the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. Winds will be north‑westerly at 4‑6 Bft, gusting up to 7 Bft along the coast. Temperatures are forecast to rise slightly, reaching 26‑27 °C in the eastern mainland, 24‑25 °C elsewhere on the mainland and 22‑24 °C in the islands.

Conditions are expected to improve from the afternoon onward, with diminishing cloud cover and reduced precipitation. Athens and Thessaloniki will see temperatures between 15‑27 °C, and isolated showers may persist in mountainous areas.

A similar outlook extends to May 21, with only a few temporary clouds and light rain in higher terrain, and a modest temperature increase to the high‑20s across most of the country.
