Greece extends deadline for €16 million fishing vessel subsidy program
The Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food has announced a final deadline extension for a €16 million investment program aimed at modernizing fishing vessels. The new deadline for submitting funding applications is Friday, October 30, 2026, at 15:00.
Part of the ‘Fisheries, Aquaculture and Sea 2021-2027’ (PALYTH) program, the initiative specifically targets Action 1.1.2, which focuses on investments in fishing vessels that do not increase their fishing capacity. The extension follows requests from professional fishers and industry associations to allow more time for preparing investment proposals.
The program aims to modernize vessels, improve working conditions and safety, and enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of the Greek fishing sector. Public funding can cover up to 85% of eligible costs, with individual project budgets ranging from €5,000 to €500,000. Applications must be submitted electronically through the Integrated Information System of State Aid (OPSKE).
