Greece extends energy efficiency program for 400+ businesses

The Greek Ministries of Environment and Energy and National Economy and Finance have announced an extension for the ‘Exoikonomo – Epicheiro’ program. More than 400 businesses will now have until November 30, 2026, to complete their energy efficiency interventions.

This extension is specifically for mature projects that have already reached advanced stages of implementation or verification. Eligible stages include final disbursement pre-checks, the selection of energy auditors for the second Energy Performance Certificate, intermediate disbursements, legality checks for the sixth implementation phase, and completion via energy audits.

To facilitate this, Minister Stavros Papastavrou and Deputy Minister Nikos Papathanasis secured additional funding to ensure these projects can be finalized following the expiration of the original Recovery and Resilience Facility deadlines. To date, over 54 million euros have been allocated to more than 1,600 small and medium-sized enterprises through the ‘Exoikonomo – Epicheiro’ and ‘Change Device for Businesses’ programs to reduce energy costs.
