Greece extends ‘Exoikonomo – Epichoro’ energy program to 2026

The Greek government has announced an extension for the ‘Exoikonomo – Epichoro’ (I Save – I Do) program, setting a new deadline of November 30, 2026. This decision, made by the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, aims to allow more than 400 businesses to complete their energy efficiency interventions.

The extension was facilitated by securing additional funding and was prompted by high demand for the program. It specifically targets businesses that are already in advanced stages of the process, such as those undergoing final disbursement pre-checks, those selecting energy auditors for energy performance certificates, or those in the middle of legality checks and implementation.

Through the ‘Energy and Entrepreneurship’ action of the Recovery and Resilience Facility, over 54 million euros have already been channeled to more than 1,600 small and medium-sized enterprises. The funding supports programs designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs, including the ‘Improving Energy Efficiency of Tertiary Sector Businesses’ and ‘Changing Equipment for Businesses’ initiatives.
