Greece extends funding deadline for fishing vessel investments

The deadline for submitting applications for the fishing vessel investment program in Greece has been extended to October 30, 2026. The program, part of the ‘Fisheries, Aquaculture and Sea 2021–2027’ (PALYTH) framework, has a total budget of 16 million euros.

Subsidies can cover up to 85% of eligible expenses, with individual investment proposals ranging from 5,000 to 500,000 euros. The funding is specifically designated for Action 1.1.2, which focuses on modernizing existing fishing vessels without increasing their fishing capacity.

The extension was granted following requests from professional fishers and collective bodies for additional time to gather necessary documentation and finalize investment proposals. The primary objectives of the initiative are to improve working conditions, enhance safety, ensure the sustainability of fishing activities, and increase the competitiveness of the Greek fishing sector.
