Greece faces heatwave with temperatures above 32°C on June 5, 2026

On Friday, 5 June 2026, Greece recorded high temperatures exceeding 32 °C, with the peak of 32.8 °C measured at the Trikala weather station. About 6 % of the national automatic stations (37 out of the network) reported maxima above 30 °C.

The Meteo.gr forecast warns that the heat will intensify over the weekend, with some areas expected to reach 35‑36 °C. Localized showers and brief thunderstorms are predicted in the mountainous regions and coastal zones, while winds will vary between 3‑4 bft from the north‑west, north‑east and south‑west, reaching up to 5‑6 bft in the early morning in parts of the Dodecanese. Temperatures will range from the low‑teens in western Macedonia to the high‑20s‑30s across most of the mainland and islands.

Overall, the weather outlook calls for generally clear skies with occasional cloud cover, warm daytime temperatures, and moderate breezes across the country.
