Greece faces hot weekend with temperatures up to 35 °C and scattered showers

A hot spell is expected across Greece from Saturday 6 June to Thursday 10 June 2026. Temperatures will rise to the high‑20s °C across most of the mainland, reaching 32‑33 °C in Thessaly and up to 34‑35 °C in eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The weather will be generally clear, but brief afternoon cloud bands will bring local rain showers and occasional isolated thunderstorms, especially in northern and central mountainous areas.

Winds will be light to moderate from the north (2‑5 Bf on the mainland, up to 6 Bf on the islands). Morning visibility may be reduced in some valleys. The forecast for the weekend and the following weekdays remains similar, with only minor temperature fluctuations and occasional local rain on the hills.
