Greece faces unstable weather with local rain and thunderstorms

A weather disturbance is expected to affect mainland Greece from Tuesday through the weekend, bringing high temperatures of 36‑38 °C and periods of sunshine mixed with cloud cover. Mountainous areas in central, northern and western regions will experience local showers and occasional thunderstorms, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

Winds will shift to north‑north‑west directions, reaching 3‑5 bophors on average and gusting up to 6 bophors in some northeastern coastal zones. Temperatures will show a slight decline in northern areas as the system moves northward on Thursday and Friday, but overall heat will dominate the mainland.

By Saturday, the pattern is expected to repeat, with most of the continental interior seeing brief afternoon rain and isolated thunderstorms, while the eastern and southern islands enjoy generally clear skies.
