Greece: Family seeks justice in commando Alexandros Ketikoglou death case

The parents of Alexandros Ketikoglou, a 21-year-old commando who died during training on November 29, 2024, have criticized the Greek justice system for significant delays in their case. Nearly two years after the incident, the matter has not yet reached a courtroom.

Through their lawyer, Anastasiou Makri, the family is seeking to upgrade the charges to intentional homicide. Currently, the number of defendants has risen to three: the instructor involved in the death, and two additional army officers. Two of these officers face charges of fatal negligence, while one faces charges for violating military orders. Additionally, evidence has emerged suggesting potential perjury by a high-ranking Navy official related to the investigation.

The family maintains that the instructor responsible remains employed and that the judicial process has failed to meet expectations despite the available evidence.
