Greece fans whistle German national anthem in Thessaloniki

During a UEFA Nations League Group 2 match in Thessaloniki, Greek fans booed and whistled the German national anthem at the Toumba Stadium. The incident occurred during Germany's first international match in Greece in 25 years.

Despite the hostility, members of the German national team continued to sing their anthem, supported by traveling German supporters. In addition to the anthem protests, Greek spectators also booed German players during ball contacts throughout the match. The behavior drew significant criticism from fans on social media, with many labeling the whistling of a national anthem as an ‘absolute no-go’ and ‘antisocial’.
