A forest fire broke out in the Stefani area of Corinthia near the border with Argolis on the afternoon of 7 August 2026. Firefighting efforts involve 82 firefighters, three volunteer hiking teams, 24 vehicles, eight aircraft and three helicopters, supported by water‑tankers and municipal equipment.
Later the same day a separate fire ignited in the Ermakia forest area of Kozani. The incident mobilised 22 firefighters, two volunteer hiking teams, six vehicles and three aircraft, with additional water‑truck assistance from the local fire service. Both fires are being contained, but the Stefani area remains at high fire‑risk level (category 3).
