Greece forecast: storms and cooler temperatures expected tomorrow

Meteorologists highlight two possible scenarios for tomorrow's weather across Greece based on the European ECMWF model, which predicts richer precipitation, and the American GFS model, which suggests a more restrained outlook. Both models agree that after a recent heatwave the atmosphere holds enough energy to generate intense localised showers, thunderstorms, hail and strong gusts.

Areas most likely to experience strong rain and storm activity include Macedonia (especially Chalkidiki), Epirus (Ioannina district), Thessaly (Magnesia and Trikala), Eastern Central Greece (including Attica), Evia, the Sporades, the Peloponnese, the Northern Aegean islands and the South Ionian Sea. Fewer phenomena are expected in Thrace, Western Central Greece, the North‑East Aegean and the North Ionian. The Cyclades, Crete and the Dodecanese should see mainly increased cloud cover with brief, mild events. North‑easterly winds over the Aegean are set to strengthen to locally 7‑8 Beaufort.

Temperatures on Friday and the weekend will fall below the seasonal norm, with maximums of 25‑27 °C in the western, central and northern regions and 28‑30 °C in the eastern and southern parts of the country.
