Greece: Fraud warnings in Tripoli and uniformed services protests in Thessaloniki

In Greece, two distinct developments have been reported. In Tripoli, authorities are warning citizens about an increase in telephone scams. Fraudsters are impersonating accounting professionals to solicit personal credentials and money, often using pretexts such as urgent tax refunds or subsidies. Local firms, including the office of Giorgos Askouni, have issued urgent notices stating they will never request e-banking codes, Taxisnet or EFKA credentials, credit card details, or SMS verification codes (OTP) over the phone.

Meanwhile, in Thessaloniki, uniformed services including police, firefighters, port authorities, and military personnel held a protest march through the city center. The demonstration, timed around the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, focused on demands for significant salary increases, compensation for previous losses, and compliance with judicial decisions. Protesters also called for improved working conditions, increased recruitment, and modernized equipment for security and armed forces.
