Greece hosts 24th Panhellenic Voluntary Blood Donor Torch Relay

The 24th Panhellenic Torch Relay of Voluntary Blood Donors, organized by POSEA, has reached various locations across Greece, including Ambelona and Lixouri, to promote the importance of blood donation.

In Ambelona, MP Evangelia Liakouli participated in the reception of the ‘Flame of Love’ at the central square. She praised the ‘Elpida’ Voluntary Blood Donors Association for its work, noting a recent instance where the association responded to an urgent blood need at the University Hospital of Larissa within one hour.

In Lixouri, the torch relay arrived for the first time in the city. The event was marked by the participation of Olympic champion Katerina Thanu, who helped carry the flame. Local officials, including Mayor Giorgos Katsiveli, welcomed the mission, which aims to highlight voluntary blood donation as a vital act of social solidarity.
