Greece hosts blood donation drive and regional agricultural festivals
In Greece, various community-focused events are taking place throughout August. The National Blood Donation Center (EKEA) and STASY SA have organized a three-day voluntary blood donation drive at the Syntagma Metro station from August 25 to 27. The initiative aims to replenish blood supplies, which often decrease during the summer holiday season.
Simultaneously, the Thessaly region is hosting numerous local agricultural festivals. These celebrations across the prefectures of Larissa, Magnesia, Trikala, and Karditsa highlight regional products such as apples, honey, cheese, and wine. These festivals serve as both cultural traditions and tools for local tourism and economic development by connecting consumers directly with producers.
