Greece hosts cultural events for August full moon
Various cultural and outdoor events are being organized across Greece to celebrate the August full moon on Friday, August 28. The festivities coincide with a partial lunar eclipse visible in parts of Europe and Africa.
In Livadi Thermi, the Livadiot Cultural Association and the Community of Livadi are hosting a night hike to the Priounoudi peak. The guided walk begins at 19:00 from Livadi Central Square and aims to reach the summit by 21:15 to view the moonrise. Participation is free.
In the Meteora region, the Theopetra Cave Documentation and Education Center will remain open from 20:00 to 24:00 with free admission. The Municipality of Meteora is also organizing a musical evening featuring Maria Vafeliadou and pianist Theano Heiraki. Additionally, the Petralona Cave and Museum will offer free night tours between 20:00 and 24:00, allowing visitors to view Paleolithic findings under moonlight.
