Greece hosts various film screening programs in cities

Various film programming initiatives are taking place across Greece. The Hellenic Film Academy is launching ‘Cinema Again’, a series of screenings featuring over 50 films ranging from the 1950s to the present day. The program will be held in eight different Greek cities and is part of the preparations for hosting the 39th European Film Awards in Athens in January 2027.

In Thessaloniki, the Municipality is hosting the ‘Cinema in the Neighborhoods’ initiative as part of the Thessaloniki Open Air Film Festival. From September 8 to September 30, 11 films will be screened in various public squares, parks, and courtyards throughout the city, including titles such as ‘Stand By Me’, ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’, and ‘Back to the Future’.
