Greece implements centralized customs clearance for exporters

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has activated the Centralized Customs Clearance procedure for export for Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). This measure is being implemented alongside the full operation of the Automated Export System (AES) in Greece.

Under this new procedure, approved economic operators can submit customs declarations at the customs office of their headquarters, while the actual goods can be presented at a different customs office within Greece or in another European Union member state. This allows businesses to centralize customs procedures through a single point of contact, regardless of where the goods are physically located.

With this implementation, Greece becomes the 11th EU member state to participate in this process, joining countries such as Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, and others. The initiative aims to reduce administrative burdens, lower costs, accelerate customs clearance, and enhance the competitiveness of Greek exporting businesses and cross-border supply chains.
