Greece introduces myDiesel for immediate agricultural fuel tax relief

The Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has launched myDiesel, a new digital application designed to provide immediate tax relief for professional farmers. Starting November 1, 2026, eligible producers will receive an instant discount on agricultural diesel directly at the pump, eliminating the previous system where farmers had to pay the full price and wait months for a refund.

The total tax relief amounts to 50.84 cents per liter, consisting of 41 cents from the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) and 9.84 cents from the associated VAT. To access this, farmers will use the myDiesel app or the myAADE portal to generate a digital coupon with a unique QR code using their TAXISnet credentials. This coupon, valid for five hours, is scanned at the gas station to apply the discount.

In addition to the procedural change, the government is increasing the limit for eligible diesel quantities from 150% to 200% of the reference amount. Authorities are also updating the consumption reference tables, which were last established in 2016, to better reflect current agricultural needs, equipment, and crop changes.
