Greece Implements Unified Digital Payments Portal for Public Debts
The Greek Ministry of Digital Governance is rolling out a Unified Digital Payments Portal that will display on a single screen all verified financial obligations of individuals to the state, including taxes, social security contributions, municipal and regional fees, traffic fines, water charges and other administratively confirmed claims.
The platform, mandated by articles 98 and 99 of a draft law submitted to Parliament and financed through the Recovery Fund, will allow users to view debt amounts, causes, deadlines and payment or settlement options, generate a unique payment reference and receive an automatic digital receipt after payment. Access will be via Taxisnet credentials and electronic notifications will be sent to both the citizen and the relevant agency.
